Operator Safety
CueForge is designed around operator safety. Edit Mode and Show Mode are strictly separated. Show Mode presents only essential information with large, hard-to-miss controls. The PANIC button provides an immediate stop. Preflight prevents entry when problems are detected. Next-cue preview keeps the operator informed.
What it does
Operator Safety is woven into every part of CueForge. Edit Mode and Show Mode are strictly separated. Show Mode presents only essential information with large, hard-to-miss controls. The PANIC button provides an immediate stop. Preflight prevents entry when problems are detected. Next-cue preview keeps the operator informed before every GO.
Safety continues after something goes wrong. Autosave recovery offers to restore the last state if the application quits unexpectedly. Missing media is surfaced with a guided relink workflow rather than failing silently. And a quit guard intercepts an accidental quit on an unsaved project — Save, Discard Changes, or Cancel — so a reflex keystroke never costs you a show file.
Why it matters
Live production is high-stakes. A wrong click, a missed cue, or an accidental edit can derail a show. CueForge's safety features are not bolted on — they are foundational. The software is designed to make the right thing easy and the wrong thing hard.
Safety workflows
- Always run Preflight before Show Mode
- Use Show Lock to prevent accidental exit
- Keep PANIC within easy reach
- Verify next cue before pressing GO
- Rely on autosave recovery after an unexpected quit (Restore / Ignore on relaunch)
- Use the missing-media banner and "Relink Missing Media" dialog to repair moved files
- Trust the quit guard (Save / Discard Changes / Cancel) when closing a dirty project
Important
Software safety features complement — but do not replace — trained operators and established production protocols.
Current status
The quit guard is verified in Show Mode. A layout-aware correction for quitting from Edit Mode is implemented and its operator acceptance is being finalised.
